Interlibrary Loan and Special Collections
Are you a current Bedford Public Library System (“BPLS”) cardholder and you would like to borrow a book or other item that isn’t owned by Bedford Public Library System, Campbell County Public Library System, or Lynchburg Public Library? Submit an ILL request online, or complete an ILL request form obtained from any BPLS branch library, and we’ll reach out to participating libraries to request the item for you.
Archives and Special Collections
Are you an individual outside of the BPLS service area who would like to obtain copies of materials from our archives or special collections? You may submit a request to BPLS for copies of materials from BPLS’ archives and special collections, including:
- Articles from archived copies of the Bedford Bulletin
- Census records
- Church minute books
- Deeds and Wills
- Marriage licenses
- Pages from our non-circulating reference materials
- Slave records
- Surveyor’s records
- World War II military service records
Contact your local public library to complete and submit an ALA Interlibrary Loan Request Form. The form can be faxed to 540-586-1839 or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
