Remote Printing from Patron Devices

Bedford Public Library System now offers patrons the ability to print from their own devices. There are two parts to this process – registering for an account (only necessary the first time you print) and sending your print job (required each time). Costs are:

  • Black and White Print: $0.10 per page
  • Color Print: $0.50 per page

Registering Your Email Address for an Account

The Bedford Public Library System offers two remote printing options for the public to use, however you must register your email to use either service.  To register, follow the steps below: 1. Go to the following website: https://siteup.ocsinc.ca/site/register

2. Enter your email address; select the Site: Bedford Public Library System VA{BedfordPL} and click the Register Email.

3. You should see the message to the left and receive an email if you have successfully registered your email address. You can use either the https://siteup.ocsinc.ca/BedfordPL link or the email addresses, bwletter1@ocsinc.ca or colorletter1@ocsinc.ca, to send the print jobs to the library.

Sending Your Print Job to the Web Site

After registering your email address, you can then either use the website or email remote printing option.  Using the website option, you can print a webpage or any of the following file types as long as the file size is no larger than 25MB:

Document File Types:    Microsoft Excel – .xls, .xlsx; Microsoft Word – .doc, .docx; Microsoft PowerPoint – .ppt, .pptx;

Notepad/TextEdit – .txt; Adobe Portable Document Format – .pdf

Picture File Types:           .jpg, .bmp, .png

1. Once you have completed work on your file(s); found a website you would like to print; or downloaded a file from the Internet, then you are ready to print by going to the following website: https://siteup.ocsinc.ca/BedfordPL

2. Enter your email address; the full website url (recommend using Copy and Paste command to copy from the address bar of the web browser) or click Choose Files button and select the file you would like to print; choose whether or not to print B&W (black and white) or Color; then click submit.

3. Once the job has been processed, you have 36 hours to take the system generated JobID to the library. Take the JobID to any of the six Bedford Library locations and they will be able to release the job for you once paid for. NOTE: You may have to scroll down to view the JobID on the webpage.

 

Sending Your Print Job by Email

After registering your email address, you can then either use the website or email remote printing option. Using the Email print option, you can print an email or any of the following file types as long as the file size is no larger than 25MB:

1. Once you have completed work on your file(s) or opened the email you would like to print; then you are ready to print by sending/forwarding an email to one of the following addresses:

Black & White Print Jobs bwletter1@ocsinc.ca
Color Print Jobs colorletter1@ocsinc.ca

2. Log into your email and use the basic instructions below depending on what you are printing:
a. Document – Use the attachment feature (usually represented by a paperclip) within you email’s new message composition window to send an email to one of the addresses.
b. Email – Forward (usually represented by an arrow pointing to the right) the email you would like to print to one of the email addresses.
NOTE: You must send the email from the email address you registered.

3. Once the email has been sent, you should receive an email acknowledgement indicating your print job is being processed and the JobID (i.e. aa12345). Within 36 hours, you need to take the JobID to any of the six Bedford Library locations, so they can release the job once paid for.
