Library Assistant I (youth services) – Forest Library

The Bedford Public Library System is seeking a friendly, creative, well-organized person with strong computer skills to plan and present children and teen programs at the Forest Library. Demonstrated ability to work productively with groups of children and teens required. Previous library or teaching experience desired. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Part-time, 24 hours a week, including occasional Saturdays and evenings, $9.44 per hour. Benefits include accrued vacation time, and eligibility to participate in group dental/vision/AFLAC supplemental insurance plans.

PT Library Assistant – Forest Library

The Bedford Public Library System is seeking a public service oriented individual to work in the Forest Library. Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and computer skills required. Major duties include a full range of automated circulation desk procedures, assisting adults and children with materials selection, use of the catalog and various e-materials apps, responding to reference questions, assisting patrons with use of the computers and other duties as assigned.

Part-time, 20 hours per week, including one evening and every other Saturday. Ability spend five or more hours daily at a computer screen; stooping, bending, lifting, reaching, plus the ability to lift 25 pound bags/boxes of books and materials is required for this position. Starting pay is $9.44 per hour. Benefits include accrued vacation time, and eligibility to participate in group dental/vision/AFLAC supplemental insurance plans.
