Cupcake Class @ Bedford Central Library

Today we will be welcoming special guest Caroline May, the head decorator at Kissed Cupcakes, who will be here to teach teens and tweens (ages 12+) how to make homemade buttercream frosting!  She will also demonstrate several decorating techniques using piping bags.  Following the lesson participants will have the opportunity to decorate their own cupcakes using the techniques they learned and compete in a mini “Cupcake Wars”.
The cupcakes will be judged by local food professionals and prizes will be awarded.  Registration is required; please call the youth services department at 540-586-8911 ext. 2107 to sign up!

Join us at the Moneta/SML library for a monthly Saturday afternoon screening of a movie for adults and teens.
This month we will be showing the live-action version of Disney’s Aladdin starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and more.

A kind-hearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true.
Free movie snacks and drinks will be served.

A Bedford Area Master Gardeners Association Program
The Master Gardeners will teach us about the history and use of scented plants around the home, as well as how to select, gather and dry flowers and herbs from the garden. Participants will then be guided in mixing their own samples of potpourri and bath salts to take home for personal use or as a gift.

Join us at the Bedford Central library for a monthly Saturday afternoon screening of a movie for adults and teens.  This month we will be showing Yesterday starring Himesh Patel, Lily James, and Sophia Di Martino.  The film tells the story of a struggling musician who realizes he’s the only person on Earth who can remember The Beatles after waking up in an alternate timeline where they never existed.

Come search for used books, DVDs and more!  Most items range in price from $.25 to a few dollars.
All proceeds benefit the Bedford Central Library.

A one-hour tutorial introducing students to the experience of the science of coding. Participants will then have a chance to use a student-guided program to learn coding basics. James Harper,  Computer and Networked Systems Technician for the Bedford Public Library System will be on hand to discuss how coding is used in computer science and other careers, and to lead the students through their activities. For ages 10-14.  Registration required please call us at 540-586-8911 ext. 2107.
