Teen Yoga @ Bedford Central Library

Teens – Join us after school for an introductory lesson in Yoga.  Kathy Graham, a local instructor, will teach you some basic poses that will help you relax and stretch your muscles.  Mats will be provided for you.  Registration requested.  Please call the youth services department at 540-586-8911 ext. 2017.  For ages 12-16.

The Roanoke Children’s Theatre will be performing at all of our libraries again this summer as part of our annual Summer Reading Program.  This year’s play is Charlotte’s Web by Joseph Robinette; based on the classic children’s book by E.B. White.  Get tangled up in this captivating tale of friendship and loyalty. An affectionate runt of a pig named Wilbur meets a barnyard full of animals who quickly become family.
When Wilbur’s life is endangered, the thoughtful spider Charlotte devises an intriguing plan to keep the gentle little swine safe. This feel-good heart-warming classic is perfect for the whole family.

Pop-Up Vacation Book Sale @ Moneta/SML Library

What could be better than vacation time at Smith Mountain Lake?  The Friends of the Moneta/SML Library want to help you get ready for your summer guests by having a Popup Vacation Book Sale.  Outfit your guest rooms, lounge chairs or hammock with books at bargain prices!!  There is a wide selection of children’s books for reading at quiet time or bedtime.  For the history buffs, we recently received a large collection of military, aviation and nautical books.  The cosmic universe, the black hole and the big bang theory may also be explored through a wide selection of titles.  Hardback fiction by the current popular authors, i.e. Baldacci, Grisham, and Ludlum, etc. are ready to fill your summer reading basket.  The “beach books” are also available for your total relaxation.  Please come join us for this event on Saturday, June 30th, 10am – 4pm at the Moneta/SML Library at 13641 Moneta Road in Moneta.
