A D-Day Celebration Film Series Event at the Bedford Central Library

In honor of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, the Bower Center for the Arts and the Bedford Public Library System are pairing up to present a WWII and modern Americans at war film series this summer.  There will be a reception and/or discussion following or prior to some of the film screenings.  The Bower Center will also have a special WWII exhibit in commemoration of the anniversary.
We kick off the series with the Oscar-winning film Saving Private Ryan starring Tom Hanks, Edward Burns, Matt Damon, and Tom Sizemore.  In the film, a squad of American soldiers led by Captain John Miller, played by Hanks, embarks on a dangerous special mission following the Normandy landings on D-Day.  Their mission – go behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan (Matt Damon), whose three brothers have been killed in combat.  Join us as we watch this epic story unfold on screen.
