What Can You Make From A Box?: STEAM Wednesday @ Bedford Central Library

Kids will use their imagination in this STEAM Wednesday program discovering all the things that can be made from an ordinary box. 

Examples include a robot, a marble maze, a “piggy” bank, games, dioramas, “fish” tank, a solar smores box and more!
Registration is required and space is limited.  For ages 6 to 12.  Please contact the Youth Services department at 540-586-8911 ext. 2107 to sign up.

Join us at the Montvale Library on Thursday afternoons at 2:00 PM for a Free introductory class in Chair Yoga.  Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is done sitting on a chair, or standing while holding it for support.  Yoga has been known to improve participants mental clarity, flexibility, wellness, strength, stability, balance, posture and even relieve some of their aches and pains.  This class is open to all regardless of your age, gender or physical limitations.  To register please call the Montvale Library at 540-425-7006.

LEGO® Club & Tales with Ty @ Bedford Central

Lego Bricks and Ty the Cocker Spaniel.

Come and join kids from 5 and up as we play with LEGOS®. Take on the challenge of the month or just use your imagination to build whatever you want with our LEGOS® or DUPLOS®. Until 4:30 PM, kids will also be able to spend some time reading with Ty, our Reading Assistance Dog. This is a great time for your child to practice reading skills and boost confidence while having fun with Ty the cocker spaniel.
Money Smart: Bank On It @ Moneta/SML Library

This is the first in a 12-part Money Smart presentation series at the Moneta/SML Library presented by Woodforest Bank*.  This month’s topic is called Bank On It.  By the end of this course, participants will understand available banking services and how to build a positive relationship with a financial institution.
To achieve this objective, the participants will be able to:

  • Identify the major types of insured financial institutions.
  • Identify five reasons to use a bank.
  • Describe the steps involved in opening a bank account.
  • Describe two types of deposit accounts.
  • Identify additional bank services that come with deposit accounts.

Fun Filled Fridays @ Stewartsville Library
