Join us this evening at the Bedford Central Library for the 3rd and final session of our introduction to American Sign Language classes.  This session will focus on the signs for time and questions (who, what, where etc.) for conversations.

Money Smart: Check It Out @ Bedford Central Library

This is the third session in our 12-month Money Smart financial literacy series at the Bedford Central Library presented by Woodforest Bank*.  This month’s topic is called Check It Out.  By the end of this course, participants will understand how to use a checking account responsibly. To achieve this objective, the participants will be able to:

  • State the benefits of using a checking account.
  • Determine which checking account is best for them.
  • Identify the steps involved in opening a checking account.
  • Add and withdraw money from a checking account.
  • Reconcile a check register with a bank statement.
  • Identify strategies to avoid overdrawing their account.
  • Explain how debit cards are linked to checking accounts.
  • Recognize how to manage a checking account wisely, with proper debit card use and overdraft programs.

*You do not have to have an account with Woodforest Bank to attend these financial literacy seminars they are open to all adults.  Attend any sessions you want.  For more information contact us at 540-586-8911

LEGO® Club & Tales with Ty @ Bedford Central

Lego Bricks and Ty the Cocker Spaniel.

Come and join kids from 5 and up as we play with LEGOS®. Take on the challenge of the month or just use your imagination to build whatever you want with our LEGOS® or DUPLOS®. Until 4:30 PM, kids will also be able to spend some time reading with Ty, our Reading Assistance Dog. This is a great time for your child to practice reading skills and boost confidence while having fun with Ty the cocker spaniel.

Escape from the Orient Express Escape Room @ Bedford Central Library

Puzzle of a steam train with pieces missing and the words solve the clues in the empty spaces.

Are you up for a challenge?  Test your mystery-solving skills at our Escape from the Orient Express escape room. Join us at the Bedford Central Library on Saturday, March 10th at either 3:00 PM or 4:30 PM. 
Signups are required and start on Saturday, February 10th.  There are eight slots per session.  For ages 13+. 
This program is being held in conjunction with our Community Read that features Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
