Love orchids, but think they’re too difficult to grow at home? Or are you wondering what to do with that big-box-store orchid you bought once the blooms have faded? Join us at the Bedford Central Branch as Margaret Bowling from the Blue Ridge Orchid Society dispels the myths of caring for these lovely, exotic flowers. She will show us just how easy and adaptable many varieties can be. Her free workshop will cover all the basics of caring for and cultivating orchids at home, which types of orchids are the easiest to grow, and techniques for encouraging your orchids to rebloom. You will also receive information about the American Orchid Society and a list of sources for growing materials. Registration recommended. Twelve lucky participants will receive a dormant (non-blooming) orchid to practice with at home. For more information, or to sign up, please call the Bedford Central Branch at 540-586-8911.
